The local environment of Agrofood Srl is the “Valle del Belice” (Belice Valley), the main production of which is the cultivation of one of the most famous and most known Italian cultivars in the world, the PDO “Nocellara del Belice”. The olives of this variety are characterised by a good flesh to stone ratio, the drupe is big with a deep green colour, the flesh is crunchy and easily detachable from the stone, the colour is deep green and the taste is slightly sweet-and-sour with a slight touch of spicy and bitter. The production of Agrofood Srl olives is carried out, according to the disciplinary standards, with absolutely organic farming techniques: mechanical tillage, fertilisation and organic phytosanitary treatment, yearly trimming, a simple system of irrigation, along with all other compliant techniques with the up-to-date agronomic guidelines.
